Glen Evans
Glenn Ray Evans, 83, Seminole resident died April 12, 2010 at
Seminole Integris Medical Center. Mr. Evans was born
September 4, 1926 in DeNoya, Oklahoma to Everett and
Ruby (Butler) Evans. He had moved back to Seminole in October 16, 2004
from the Hobbs, New Mexico area
Glenn grew up in the Seminole area and graduated in 1944 from
Varnum High School and later he attended two years of college.
Glenn served in the U.S. Army as a Corporal from 1950 to 1953.
Glenn married Bertha (Richter) Evans on April 30, 1952 in
Schweinfurt, Germany. He was a member of the 1st Christian
Church and the American Legion and The V.F.W. Mr. Evans
owned and operated “Pacific Pumps” and retired in 2004.
Mr. Evans is survived by his wife Bertha Evans of the home in
Seminole; also surviving him are two sons, Glenn "Ray" Evans, Jr.
of Seminole and Ronnie Lee Evans and his wife Dana
of Hobbs, New Mexico ; daughter Doris Allison and her husband
Ronnie of Seminole, Oklahoma; Two brothers Raymond M. Evans
of Arlington, Texas and Everett E. Evans, Jr. of Seminole, Oklahoma;
sisters Margaret Ruth Schroeder, Lucille Gist and
Helen Adams all of Seminole, Oklahoma, and Grace Viola Hargis of
Tulsa, Oklahoma; Eight grandchildren , ten great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by a sister Betty Jo Best and a grandson
Travis Shad Evans.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30A.M. Friday, April 16, 2010
at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Burial
at Little Cemetery. Rev. Glen Pence will be officiating.
Casket bearers will be: Clint Hohn, Michael Cole, Caleb Evans,
John Robert Evans, Cheyenne Allison and Bill Adams
